A simple nightly routine for getting a real answer from light therapy.
Why 30 nights, and not 3
Here is the truth most companies in this category will not put in writing. The warmth you feel from your wrap is immediate. The answer about your hands is not.
The clinical trials on red and infrared light for aching hands and wrists measured people over weeks, usually 8 to 12 of them. Some of those trials found meaningfully less pain and better grip. Some found no difference at all. Nobody serious can promise you which group you will be in, and we will not pretend otherwise.
What we can do is help you run a fair test on yourself. Thirty nights of daily use is the honest minimum for light to have a chance. Miss half the nights and you have not tested the wrap, you have tested your memory. This guide exists to make the daily part nearly automatic, and to help you notice what is actually changing.
And remember the deal you bought under: if your nights have not changed, you have until day 60 to email us for a full refund. So relax. The pressure is on the wrap, not on you.
Night 1: set up once, properly
Charge it fully before the first session. Use the included cable and give it a couple of hours. A full charge covers several sessions, so you will not be charging every day.
Then put it on and adjust it while you are not in a hurry. Thumb through the thumb hole, panel against the underside of your wrist, snug enough that the panel sits flat on your skin, loose enough that your fingers do not tingle from the strap itself. If your wrist is small, that is what the extension strap in the box is for. Thirty seconds of fitting now saves you from fiddling every night.
Press the power button and meet the two controls: one for the light and heat, one for the massage. Try each level once so nothing surprises you later. Most people settle on the middle heat setting within a few nights.
The routine: 15 minutes, anchored to something you already do
The single biggest predictor of whether this works for you is whether you actually do it daily. So do not rely on willpower. Attach the session to something that already happens every day:
- Your morning coffee. Wrap goes on when the mug does.
- The first episode of whatever you watch in the evening.
- Reading in bed, before lights out.
Same anchor, same time, every day. You will feel the warmth within the first minute. That warmth is not the treatment working, it is just heat, and we want to be straight about that. The light is doing its quiet work underneath, and its results, if they come, show up over weeks.
When the 15 minutes are up, take it off and glance at your skin. A little pinkness from warmth is normal and fades. Anything that looks irritated or feels wrong means stop and email us.
What to notice each morning
Do not try to journal. Nobody journals for 30 days. Instead, ask yourself three questions with your morning coffee. They take ten seconds.
- 1. How many times did my hands wake me last night?
- 2. Stiffness on waking, from 1 to 5?
- 3. Did I hand anything to someone else yesterday because of my hands?
You do not need to write the answers down every day. You just need to be the kind of witness who will actually know, on night 30, whether the numbers moved. If you like paper, print this page and use the tracker below.
The 30-night tracker
Cross off each night after your session. The red ones are check-in nights: stop for a second and compare against night 1.
What each week usually looks like
Nights 1 to 7. This week is about the habit, not the hands. The warmth feels good immediately, which helps the routine stick. Expect nothing else yet and you will not be disappointed.
Nights 8 to 14. If you are going to respond, the first signs are usually small and easy to miss. One fewer wake-up. Stiffness that fades a bit faster after you get up. Check in with your three questions.
Nights 15 to 30. This is the window where the trials that found improvements started finding them. Changes, when they come, tend to build gradually rather than arrive one dramatic morning.
Night 30. Sit down with your three questions and answer them honestly against night 1. Better nights: keep going, people who respond usually keep improving through weeks 6 to 8. No change at all: keep using it if you want warmth and comfort, and know that the refund window is open until day 60. Email us either way if you feel like telling us what happened. We read everything.
Comfort and common sense
Device care is simple. Charge it when the light tells you to. Keep the panel clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not submerge it, it is electronics wearing a fabric coat.
If nothing is changing
Before you call it, check three things. Were you actually daily, or daily-ish? Is the panel sitting flat against your skin, or riding loose? Are you doing the full 15 minutes, or taking it off when the timer in your head goes off early?
If the honest answer to all three is yes and your nights still have not moved, then the wrap did not earn its place on your nightstand, and that is exactly what the guarantee is for. Email lumessalabs@gmail.com any time up to day 60 with your order number. Full refund, no hoops. We would rather refund you than have you feel tricked.
